Selekcija is 100% Malvazija Istriana. Vintage 2019 marks its fourth edition. Though rather new on the market, Selekcija is proving to be a huge success. Stylistically it stands between our classic, bestselling fresh Malvazija and aged Santa Lucia. It comes to the market a whole year after the classic Malvazija, because winemaker`s wish here was “to make a wine which remains crispy fresh and joyful but at the same time shows complexity and clearly speaks of my very personal criteria”. Selekcija is streamlined, focused and more concentrated and layered edition of classic Malvazija with a clear vintage variation. Vintage 2019 displays medium golden colour with a nice brilliance. Its varietal, aromatic profile comes out straight away, but far from being a show-off, revealing its complexity slowly, layer by layer as predecessors. It shows fine, aromatic, fruity, peachy character. Dry on the palate, with medium freshness and very velvety, elegant texture. There is a lot of character on the palate here! Intense, opulent and persistent in a pleasant and pleasing way. Saltines, a hallmark of this remarkable Malvasia is there again.
