Santa Lucia Noir is Kozlović expression of »super Istrian«, produced from local and indigenous variety Teran and international varieties Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, all three of them growing in Santa Lucia single vineyard.
The colour is opaque, deep ruby red – something we can expect from all the contenders involved – Teran, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes. Nose presents an immediate poise and attraction. It is developed, quite intense, and above all complex. There is plenty of ripe dark and black fruits, liquorice fine oak, touch of dried fruits, dark chocolate and fine spices. Smoky and toasty nuances are adding to the complexity, while long and resonating finish is seductive. Due to all this, it is right to say that Santa Lucia Noirs is skilfully composed and smart wine.
Dry, with lush freshness coming from Teran and plenty of ripe tannins coming from both Bordeaux varieties, Santa Lucia Noir is full bodied and powerful, designed with proper vertical dimension. Aroma profile is intense, with tertiary aromas such as wet leaves and undergrowth adding to the picture. Long nourishing process was worth: wine is perfectly well matured and ready to drink while still showing a very good ageing potential.
It is strongly recommended to decant Santa Lucia Noir 2017 before serving!
