Vinarija Kozlović - Naši vinogradi - Valle

VINEYARD VALLE

VINEYARD WERE IT ALL STARTED IN 1904.

At vineyard Valle at foothills of Momjan we cultivate Malvazija Istriana, Muscat Momiano, Teran, and as of recently Sauvignon Blanc. Vineyard covers 5 ha, and its age ranges from 8 to 35 years depending on the variety. Soil is a composite of flysch, limestone and clay, the vineyard has a South-Southwest orientation, and the difference between daytime and night-time temperatures is resulting in crisp, fresh and playful wines. Harvest is done by hand. Vineyard Valle gives us the following wines: Malvazija, Valle, Svinjon, semi-sweet Muscat Momiano, dry Muscato Momiano and Teran.

VINEYARD SANTA LUCIA

MOST EXQUISITE WINES ARE MADE WITH DEDICATED EFFORTS IN THE VINEYARD

Location of Santa Lucia (single vineyard) is considered one of the best vineyard sites in Croatia. It is located 240 meters above the sea level in the vicinity of Buje, region of Western Istria, covering 25 ha. The first plots of Malvazija date back to 1961, and with time as we were rejuvenating the plots, we have discovered some special locations that give top results for Teran, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. These grapes are used in our premium red blend of Santa Lucia Noir. Harvest is done entirely by hand in phases that follow natural ripeness of grapes. The soil is composed of flysch, limestone and clay. It has South-West orientation with constant exposure to the sun reflecting in the wines produced here. Santa Lucia Noir and Santa Lucia Malvazija are produced only in the best harvests, and they have the potential to mature over 10 years. Vineyard Santa Lucia, also produces Santa Lucia Teran, Santa Lucia Malvazija Po mojen, Santa Lucia Malvazija Akacia and Malvazija Selekcija.

FOUR GENERATIONS, ONE STORY, SAME VALUES

Since 1904, we have lived and cultivated wine in Valle Valley, on the North-Western part of the Istrian peninsula, bordering Italy and Slovenia. All four generations of the Kozlović family have the same goal: to preserve native sorts by honouring the region and heritage, to advance in knowledge and technology in our vineyard and cellar, and to guarantee the quality of wine with the family name.

A PLACE WHERE OUR WINES BREATHE

We believe that wines are born in vineyards but raised in cellars where they receive a reputation that they take into the world and land in wine lovers’ homes. We had remodelled our cellar in 2012 and now it stretches over three floors.
We started the works in the cellar because one of the guiding principles of our family is the passion for knowledge and progress. In construction of the new cellar, we have incorporated ecological principles, sustainability and modern findings, along with wine technology and hospitality.
